For lazy people, life is a path overgrown with thorns and thistles. For those who do what is right, it is a smooth highway. Wise children make their parents happy. Foolish children bring them shame. Doing foolish things makes a fool happy, but a wise person is careful to do what is right. Proverbs 15:19-21
Here are 10 time-investing things to do when bored at home.
Are You Ready?
1. Tick Your To-Do List.
Many times, there’s a propensity to not do the things we planned to do due to procrastination or our inability to fit them into our busy schedule. So, this may be a suitable time to tick that to-do list you had penned down for years, months, or weeks. Review that list now and try to do any that you can. There’s nothing more heartening than achieving a set goal. I just achieved mine by writing this blog post which had been on my to-do list for days now. It’s your turn. Go do yours.
2. Call Your Family And Friends.
More often than not, we are neglectful of the necessity to keep in touch with friends and family. Instead of wasting any more time, now may be a good time to make those heartwarming calls to those you love and should love. More so, God desires us to love one another. To love in deed and not in words. The least you can do is to make that phone call. They’ll be delighted to hear from you.
3. Have A Dance Tutorial Online.
Let’s face it. We’ve all wished to dance better. This may be a good time to learn new dance moves on YouTube. There are a lot of videos uploaded online to sharpen your dancing skills. Get yourself a dance partner if you can. You won’t be bored.
4. Get To The Kitchen.
I understand that cooking is a pastime for some people, and drudgery for others. However, you’d be surprised how much fun you can have from cooking and baking. It’s even more fun when done with a friend or significant other. You could play your favorite song playlist while at it and do a sing-along by yourself or better still with your cooking or baking partner. Wow. I’m excited already.
5. Play Games.
There are fun games you can play online. Your Google Search engine will serve its purpose in this. Search for “fun games to play online”. If you have a chessboard or a scrabble board at home, indulge yourself. iMessage games are also available to play with family, friends, dating partners, or spouses.
6. Watch YouTube Videos.
This is something I absolutely love to do when bored. It is an option that is solely dependent on personal interests. For instance, I love to watch wedding proposal videos and sermons on YouTube. You, on the other hand, may have an interest in cars, interior decor, cooking, etc.
7. Read A Book
Is there anything you want to get informed on? Search for a book on that topic written by a renowned writer. I advise you to read reviews about the book before you purchase or download it. It’ll be fun reading about something of interest to you.
8. Do Dance Workouts
This is always fun. A sure way to burn some calories whilst having fun. I must admit that it’s been a while I did dance workouts. However, I remember how fun-giving they were. You can also try out a Latin dance workout.
9. Get Ahead On Schoolwork Or Future Projects.
10. Watch A Movie.
If you’re already subscribed to Netflix, this will be a good time to enjoy your subscription. Nevertheless, ensure you do not spend so much time watching movies. I made this my tenth thing to do because it’s usually the first thing we think of. However, I hope your mind has been stretched to other options now.
So, you were bored. Now, you have ten things you could do. Why not start now.
