I am going to start off by informing you that this blog post is courtesy of Mamoudou Gassama’s selfless rescue act. You should check it here. This really blessed me and made me realize that overthinking, to an extent, cripples your ambitions. I still suggest you open the link above. Gassama said something striking, he said: “I didn’t think about it, I climbed up and God helped me”.
Well, because I’m pretty sure you haven’t opened the link, I’ll write a little on what it’s about. The footage above shows how a man, Gassama rescued a small boy dangling from a balcony in Paris. He pulled himself up four floors of balconies. What struck me was his acknowledgment of Who helped him, God. After watching this, I thought, “Many times when God calls us, we look so much at the impossibilities, overthink things through for Him, and of course, we do not heed to His call”. Many of us have great aspirations but have allowed fear to come in the way of meeting them. The question is, “What has happened to your faith?”
It is my great desire that everyone who reads this article, decides to come out of his little box to unleash his inherent abilities. The world is indeed waiting for you. The Bible says that we should minister our gifts to one another as good stewards of His manifold Grace. Go ahead and serve others with what you have and can do. Remember, if God calls you, Just Do It. Things never make sense when we overthink them through, I promise you.
A few ways to be doers,
1. Do Not Overthink.
Of course, this would be my first point. Overthinking limits you to being a dreamer and not a doer ’cause it shows you “the impossibilities” and feeds your fears. I am also very much melancholic as regards thinking and analyzing. However, I believe there’s a limit to it. I have to tell myself this or I’ll never get anything done.
2. Pay No Attention To Critiques.
I’ve learned that people will always criticize. A meal is never appreciated in its undone state but will be sought for when fully cooked. Keep on and let your finished work praise you. Keep your eyes away from critiques but on the goal. That way, you’ll be a doer and not only a dreamer. Only sift comments that can make you better and then carry on with your pursuits.
3. Work Hard.
Let’s not even deceive ourselves; hard work pays. The Bible says that the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied. Diligence is required from us, thereafter, God does the rewarding by satisfying our satiety. Another scripture says, all hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. Prov 14:23. Do what you have to do, God’s Grace will meet you there. Study to show yourself approved in what you desire to do. Get better, read books, make researches, be the best you can be, Work Hard. By this, you’ll be prepared to do and not only dream.
4. Stay Thankful.
I am yet to fully understand the blessings of being thankful to God. Thankfulness creates room to do more. God truly goes extra when we are thankful. Stay thankful for the the things that seem little to receive Grace to do more.
