For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
This scripture is simple, however, profound. The NET Bible version says ‘For I know what I have planned for you, says the Lord …’ This was God’s assuring word to the Israelites whilst they were captured in Babylon. Likewise, He wants you to know that He has plans for you.
Do not let unforeseen distasteful circumstances deter you from believing this truth. Being conscious of God as a Father would help you see His word as true and keep you aware of His promises for you. You’ll understand that your ways are always before Him and He watches you closely Prov 5:21.
He went on to inform us of His kind of plans for us in the reference scripture. Plans of peace and not of evil; thoughts to prosper and not to harm us; thoughts to give us a future filled with hope. This is awesome.
Plans Of Peace:
My several years of being in Christ have taught me that His thoughts are always to keep me in perfect peace. So, I abscond anything, not peace-giving.
Thoughts Of Good:
His plans are good and always thoughtful. You can be sure to entrust your life in Him because He alone is good. Refuse thoughts that make you think otherwise.
Plans To Prosper You:
Yes, He’s in the business of making you prosper; In the business of making you prolific. He desires you to grow like a palm tree and remain fresh and flourishing even as you age. There’s no limitation to your greatness in Him.
To Give You A Future:
I try to trust the One who sees my end from my beginning. He knows the path I should walk on because He sees how things would end. I’m excited about the future He has planned for me. You should be as well.
Considering God as your Father will considerably fill you with hope. In the same vein, you’ll realize that His plans for you are always perfect.
