To be honest, time goes by so fast. I legit remember when I turned 20 like it was only a few months ago. I was excited about getting to my 20’s and had so many expectations. Now, a few years after, and I’m fascinated by how the years ran by so fast. Don’t bother guessing my age, just ask. lol. The question is, “can I look back and confidently say that those years were well invested and not wasted?” The clock is still ticking and will never stop. Years constantly pass by. Are you making the best use of your limited time? Is your life purpose-driven? Is God elated with the kind of life you’ve set to live? OK, you started well but are you still on track? What are you doing? These are questions we shouldn’t forget to ask ourselves as we live on.
Do you remember when Peter forbade Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection? Jesus replied by rebuking satan who spoke through him saying “Get behind Me, Satan! … you are not mindful of the things of God” [Matt 16:21-23]. Two things I picked out from this passage,
- Jesus was able to descend that it was Satan speaking through Peter.
- Satan is never mindful of God’s Kingdom; he’s against it.
Now the question is,
Are You Mindful?
Many times I find myself wanting to give up a ministerial work or not being mindful of a need that arises in His House. Now The Holy Spirit is teaching me that that nonchalance and unmindfulness on the things of God are from the devil and I’m learning to rebuke those thoughts and not entertain them.
It’s quite bewildering that we all say “The Lord’s Prayer” every day but have no understanding of what we say. We pray “Lord, let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” oblivious of the fact that His Will will be done on earth through us. The truth is, Daddy gave gifts to men [Eph 4:8] and when we use these gifts, we bring heaven on earth ’cause He isn’t going to come down physically. He is Spirit and works through us(the carriers of His Spirit). He manifests Himself on earth through our gifts. Hence, Know your gift(s) and live your life purposefully making the most of every opportunity. So as you say this prayer, are you truly willing? Well, you should.
You only begin discovering your inherent potential when you discover your gift.
People of God, let’s stop holding back when He groans in us to do something. For truly, the creation is earnestly waiting for our manifestation. Whatever burning desire you know He’s placed in your heart as a consuming fire to do, do it. He who called you is able to make all grace abound towards you. Use that gift He’s given to you. Bear in mind that the bible says, better is the end of a thing than the beginning; so when you decide to heed to His call, be faithful to continue. Hmm… Being faithful isn’t easy but Grace has been given.
It’s by God’s grace that I am in my final year of medical school and still serving Him. There are places your service to God will take you to, that money can’t take you. So, in your bask for wealth, recognition, and accomplishments, who/what is your driving force? Why do you do the things you do? What’s the disposition of your priorities? Be careful to make God primary and others, secondary.
Hmm… and as you are being used by God to save many from the world, Be Sure Not To Be Conformed To It.
Talk soon,
PS. If you think your friends need this too, I’d love you to share it. Thanks.
